BOOK & MATERIAL DONATION GUIDELINES

The Friends of the Library gladly accept donations of new and gently-used books and other materials for their annual book fair. All proceeds are given back to the Library District to fund special programs and amenities within library branches. Here are a few tips to help simplify your donation experience: 

ITEMS ACCEPTED

  • New & used books in good condition are gladly accepted regardless of age.
    NOTE: Please recycle moldy, dirty or damaged books and items that smell of smoke or animals. That is what we will do with them!
  • DVDs
  • CDs
  • Records
  • Magazines (published within last 2 years)
  • Encyclopedia sets published within 10 years
  • Textbooks published within 10 years
ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED
  • Magazines older than two years
  • National Geographic magazines regardless of publication date

LOCATIONS & CAPACITY
Most of the larger library branches accept up to four medium-sized boxes (approximately 13"x12"x15") of donations during regular operating hours. Donation receipts are available from the check out desk. We do not want to turn away your gift due to space limitations, so we encourage you to bring donations 
to the following branches. Click on branch name for directions:  

Kathryn Linnemann - St. Charles Spencer Road - St. Peters Deer Run - O'Fallon
McClay - St. Charles Corporate Parkway - Wentzville Middendorf-Kredell - O'Fallon 
Kisker Road - St. Charles    
The Friends can accept large quantity donations at the warehouse in O'Fallon, 215a Cool Springs Ct. O'Fallon, MO 63366. There is a placard on the door where the Friends are located; up the first ramp with railings as you enter on the right. Please contact us in advance to be sure the sorters will be working on the day you intend to bring your donations. Large donations are generally accepted at the following times: 
Mondays 9am - 12pm
Wednesdays 6pm - 9pm
Saturdays 9am - 12pm
